The Caring Family Foundation partners with The Felix Project to provide a million meals to Londoners in need
The initiative will seek to address poverty experienced by adults and children in the capital.
Hospitality tycoon Richard Caring’s The Caring Family Foundation (TCFF) has launched the “Food from the Heart” campaign in partnership with food redistribution charity The Felix Project. The initiative will provide one million meals to tackle food insecurity across London, with 300,000 meals distributed by the end of 2024 and an additional 700,000 planned for 2025. A key focus is on supporting schools like Surrey Square Primary, where significant economic challenges affect a large proportion of students. TCFF is also addressing heightened hunger concerns during the Christmas holidays, when many children lack access to sufficient nutrition.
Richard and Patricia Caring, co-founders of TCFF, emphasized the foundation’s mission to combat child poverty and food insecurity. Richard Caring stated, “Every child deserves access to hot, nutritious meals daily. With The Felix Project’s support, we aim to bring hope and relief to those most in need.” Since its founding, TCFF has provided over 3.5 million meals through its extensive network in the UK and Brazil, underscoring its long-term commitment to tackling hunger and deprivation.
The Felix Project, which redistributes surplus food to frontline organizations, highlighted the urgent need for action as one in eight working London families rely on food banks weekly. CEO Charlotte Hill OBE expressed gratitude for TCFF’s generosity, noting its vital role in addressing the growing crisis. “It is a scandal that so many children face hunger daily,” she said, reinforcing the importance of partnerships like this in ensuring families receive the support they need.
