Mission

To deliver transformational, sustainable and systematic change to tackle poverty and domestic abuse in the UK and Brazil; and to empower Indigenous communities to thrive, and support their conservation efforts in the Amazon.

Donate

There is a global food crisis and a growing poverty gap. Amazonian deforestation is at a 15-year high, hurting local communities who are in the frontline. Violence against women and girls is widespread and growing.

The Caring Family Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of women, with children at the heart of all that we do. We work to tackle child poverty, deforestation and domestic abuse, in the UK and Brazil, with our core focus remaining on women and children across these areas.

Our Team

Founders

In 2019 we set up The Caring Family Foundation in response to a desire to feel more connected to the impact and outcome of our philanthropy. We wanted to focus on causes close to our hearts and be hands-on, remaining close to the journeys of the families and communities we work alongside.

Our foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of women, with children at the heart of all that we do. Our work tackles child poverty, domestic abuse and reforestation in the UK and Brazil.

“When people ask why the foundation works in the UK and Brazil, I reply that they are my two homes. I am proud of my identity; Brazil runs through my veins. I am of mixed heritage just like many of the Brazilian population. No matter where I am in the world, I hold a strong bond with my country, so it is only natural that I feel drawn to support where I can. The UK and Brazil sadly share unprecedented levels of violence, poverty and solely in Brazil, deforestation. We have committed to these causes to have a tangible impact on the lives of these communities, through our frontline initiatives”

Katie Beeching

Foundation ambassador

Katie is the Ambassador for the Caring Family Foundation and has responsibility for the foundation’s strategic and operational delivery, as well as financial oversight. She has over 15 years’ experience combatting Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking (MSHT), Domestic Abuse (DA and Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).

Katie previously worked in the charity sector as Head of Domestic Abuse and Modern Slavery for a leading charity provider, with a dedicated team of over 250, supporting over 2,500 vulnerable adults and 600 vulnerable children. Previously a Crown servant, she was appointed to two prime ministerial taskforces and has a Master’s degree in Health and International Development from the London School of Economics and Civil Service Leadership training.

Alessandra Figueiredo

COO of The Caring Family Foundation in Brazil

Alessandra Figueiredo is a senior corporate lawyer and board advisor with over two decades of experience in legal governance and risk management, alongside more than 10 years of dedicated work supporting third-sector organizations focused on children’s welfare. As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of The Caring Family Foundation in Brazil, she applies her expertise to institutional development, governance, and policy advocacy. In this role, Alessandra helped build the legal and institutional partnerships that enabled the Foundation to secure the inclusion of the International Day of the Girl Child in Brazil’s national calendar, contributing to the organization’s broader mission of empowering women and girls.
